TNDC ANNOUNCES THE EMPLOYEE REWARDS AND RECOGNITION PROGRAM 2024 QUARTERLY AWARD RECIPIENTS

TNDC is excited to announce the winners of our 2024 Quarterly Awards! The TNDC Rewards and Recognition Program celebrates TNDC employees who demonstrate initiative, dedication and commitment to our company and our clients.

We are excited to recognize 10 TNDC employees with Quarterly Awards in 2024. These recipients were nominated by another staff member (colleague or supervisor) across three areas. The winners receive a Quarterly Award Certificate and 250 IdeaSource points. Congratulations to the recipients of our 2024 Quarterly Awards.

2024 Q1:

Exemplifying TNDC Values (Safety, Integrity, Respect, Diversity, High Performance)

Winner: Daylon Mosely, Maintenance Foreman, Red Chris Crow Crew

Nominated By: Tony Smaniotto, Fleet Manager

Positive Behaviour Witnessed/Outcome:

Day to day, Daylon always does a great job. Always smiling with a positive attitude, constantly checking on employees and contractors doing field work and taking supplies when needed. Focuses on priorities and problem solving. Always first to work, prepared and last to leave. Ensuring Safety is always at the forefront. Excellent communication. Speeding up repairs and therefore shorting down time. Finding solutions to problems rather than waiting for somebody else to solve them.

Going Above and Beyond (to solve a problem or get the job done)

Winner: Andrea Heidrick, Accounts Payable Clerk

Nominated By: Lee Vincent, HEO Program Facilitator

Positive Behaviour Witnessed/Outcome:

For the HEO Program, we work with community level vendors that are not used to the concept of “net 30 days”. They are used to band offices paying their invoices right away, and are usually counting on that payment as part of their financial planning. They send me their invoice and expect to be paid within 48 hours rather than 2-3 weeks. Andrea is amazing to work with, and recently went above and beyond to help me get payments to some community members outside the standard Finance timelines. She understood the situation and took the steps available to her, within Finance protocols, to help solve the problem. It is a pleasure to work with her.

Living and role modelling our Safety Values (Safety First, Safety Always)

Winner: Rickey Tucker, Heavy Equipment Operator, Red Chris TIA

Nominated By: Kevin Dennis, General Foreman

Positive Behaviour Witnessed/Outcome:

Rickey brought forward concerns to management that we do not have the proper equipment to execute the tree falling work in the safest possible manner. This exemplifies Rickey's personal values that mirrors TNDC’s integrity and accountability. The situation was re-assessed and the decision was made to shut down the operation. The work was subbed out to a partner that specializes in that work and have all the proper equipment. Rickey is a great role model to the rest of the crew for "Safety First, Safety Always". Speaking up prevented any potential incidents or injuries to the TNDC team from performing this work without the safest possible equipment.

2024 Q2:

Going Above and Beyond (to solve a problem or get the job done)

Winner: Teghan McNain, PC Specialist, Red Chris – Project Controls

Nominated By: Andrew Shelstad, Project Controls Lead

Positive Behaviour Witnessed/Outcome:

Teghan has excellent attention to detail and gets the job done right, the first time. She has a great attitude and aptitude for controls and takes new challenges head on. Teghan is always looking for ways to learn and help the team succeed. She helps the department by ensuring accurate submission of Labour, Equipment, Materials reports and quality reports to our client to support billing. Teghan is a good mentor for new members. She helps others in identifying and correcting payroll issues and coaches new hires and supervisors on completing accurate timecards and timesheets.

2024 Q3:

Exemplifying TNDC Values (Safety, Integrity, Respect, Diversity, High Performance)

Winner: Andrea Heidrick, Accounts Payable Clerk

Nominated By: Rhonda Quock, Accounting Manager

Positive Behaviour Witnessed/Outcome:

Andrea demonstrates behaviour that aligns with TNDC values. Andrea consistently demonstrates positive and respectful behaviour. This is reflected in her quality of work and her interactions with colleagues and company clients. Andrea reliably meets daily commitments and addresses issues thoughtfully, promptly and effectively, and takes responsibility for her actions.

Exemplifying TNDC Values (Safety, Integrity, Respect, Diversity, High Performance)

Winner: Steven Reynolds, Red Chris TIA Supervisor

Nominated By: Nadine Gill, Rock Truck Operator

Positive Behaviour Witnessed/Outcome:

Steve leads his team for success in the way he handles himself and interacts with his crew. Steve is always positive, very approachable, even personality for all, and shows his knowledge every day. Steve leads his crew to succeed above and beyond the job scope. We met and beat other milestones. Safety is number one.

Going Above and Beyond (to solve a problem or get the job done)

Winner: Zakk Suszynski, Light Vehicle Technician, Red Chris Mechanical Team

Nominated By: Tony Smaniotto, Fleet Manager

Positive Behaviour Witnessed/Outcome:

Zakk is a committed employee who is always willing to go out of his way for others to initiate many improvements to TNDC's maintenance processes. His input is critical to our growth and ever-evolving practices that create better efficiencies. He also has exemplary safety practices and is regularly leading the morning Pre-Start Meetings (PSM). His leadership skill is prevalent in the way he is mentoring the less-experienced people in the department. Zakk's "lead by example attitude" lifts the spirits and motivates others in the department to do the same. He has taken on this leadership role despite there being no financial incentive. We lean on him for many things but most of all, his great company ethics and integrity.

Living and role modelling our Safety Values (Safety First, Safety Always)

Winner: Herbert Henyu, Heavy Equipment Operator, Red Chris Road Maintenance

Nominated By: Crystal Dennis, Supervisor

Positive Behaviour Witnessed/Outcome:

I am proud to nominate Herbert Henyu for a quarterly award. With 20+ years with TNDC, Herbert consistently demonstrates an unwavering commitment to safety. He promptly reports hazards and unsafe conditions, ensuring a safe environment for everyone. Herbert’s polite and clear radio communication sets a positive example for the team. Herbert’s dedication to safety has improved crew family awareness many times. By sharing his knowledge and leading by example, Herbert has fostered a culture of teamwork and accountability where safety is a shared priority.

2024 Q4:

Exemplifying TNDC Values (Safety, Integrity, Respect, Diversity, High Performance)

Winner: Todd Smith, Training Superintendent, Red Chris

Nominated By: Sean Brown, Red Chris - Site Manager

Positive Behaviour Witnessed/Outcome:

Going Above and Beyond (to solve a problem or get the job done)

Winner: Dave Cook, Recruitment

Nominated By: Breanne Resch, HR Generalist

Positive Behaviour Witnessed/Outcome:

With having such a busy summer for 2024, Dave never stopped. He worked around the clock making sure we could meet the numbers that were required. After being on site for so many years and then stepping into the recruitment role, he has such a great understanding of the needs and is able to deliver. Taking calls, texts and emails from employees and potential candidates all day, evenings and weekends, shows his dedication and passion for TNDC. Dave’s tenaciousness and his ability to handle the pressure of a demanding schedule were instrumental in the success of recruitment efforts during this busy period.

Living and role modelling our Safety Values (Safety First, Safety Always)

Winner: Darcy Rideout, HSE Superintendent, Red Chris

Nominated By: Tony Smaniotto, Fleet Manager

Positive Behaviour Witnessed/Outcome:

Darcy always shows genuine concern for the safety of all craft and puts great effort forward to do a thorough job when completing safety reports. Congratulations and thank you to the Quarterly Award recipients for demonstrating leadership.
