STANDING TOGETHER AGAINST BULLYING ON PINK SHIRT DAY

Today --  February 26th -- is Pink Shirt Day, a national day to wear pink to take a stand against bullying. Sadly, bullying continues to be a problem in many schools, workplaces, homes and online. We must all foster acceptance, kindness, inclusion and respect for everyone.

TNDC is committed to fostering a safe, respectful and inclusive work environment for our employees and everyone we work with.

As part of this commitment, TNDC is participating in Pink Shirt Day by fostering conversation and providing information about bullying and harassment. Managers and Supervisors will also be talking about bullying with their teams

Choose Kindness!

Let’s take a collective stand against bullying and be an advocate for kindness and inclusivity.

The Story of Pink Shirt Day

Now an international movement, Pink Shirt Day has humble beginnings. In 2007, Berwick, Nova Scotia classmates David Shepherd and Travis Price purchased and distributed 50 pink shirts after a student at their school was bullied for wearing a pink shirt. With that act of kindness, Pink Shirt Day was born. It is now celebrated across Canada on the last Wednesday in February.  To learn more, visit: https://pinkshirtdaycanada.ca/
