TNDC WELCOMES JENNIFER HANAK AS HEALTH, SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENT DIRECTORTahltan Nation Development Corporation (TNDC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Jennifer Hanak as Director of Health, Safety and Environment (HSE). With 20 years of extensive experience in both brownfield and greenfield construction in the mining, oil & gas, and energy sectors on projects across Canada, Jennifer brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her new role. “The health and safety of our employees and everyone we work with is TNDC’s top priority. TNDC looks forward to leveraging Jennifer’s expertise and leadership to further enhance our HSE program, including upholding the highest standards of health, safety and environmental stewardship.” Jennifer is an accomplished safety professional with progressive experience developing and implementing programs, leading teams, cultivating strong safety cultures and working with First Nation communities. A seasoned manager with a strong commitment to safety, sustainability and community engagement, Jennifer brings comprehensive knowledge in project management, certification audit, incident investigation, contract management, mining, manufacturing, exploration and construction. In addition to a diploma in Occupational Health, Safety and Environment from the University of Victoria, Jennifer has taken numerous HSE management courses and holds various HSE certificates. Jennifer has a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology from Saint Mary's University in Halifax. She is a Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) and member of the Canadian Society of Safety Engineering (CSSE). In this leadership role, Jennifer is responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining comprehensive health, safety and environmental programs to ensure the well-being of employees, protection of the environment, and compliance with all regulatory requirements. Among her responsibilities is fostering a culture of safety, compliance and continuous improvement, integrating HSE considerations into business planning and decision making, ensuring the successful maintenance of TNDC’s Certificate of Recognition, and ensuring TNDC’s HSE programs reflect Tahltan values. |
