Standing Together Against Bullying

Today – February 22, 2023 – is Pink Shirt Day, a national day to wear pink to take a stand against bullying, which is a problem in many schools, workplaces, homes and online. On this important day, our team is wearing pink shirts with the message Lift Each Other Up! to take a collective stand against bullying and be an advocate for kindness and inclusivity.

The story of Pink Shirt Day
Now an international movement, Pink Shirt Day has humble beginnings. In 2007, Berwick, Nova Scotia classmates David Shepherd and Travis Price purchased and distributed 50 pink shirts after a student at their school was bullied for wearing a pink shirt. With that act of kindness, Pink Shirt Day was born. It is now celebrated across Canada on the last Wednesday of February. To learn more about Pink Shirt Day, visit www.pinkshirtday.ca.

“TNDC is committed to fostering a safe, respectful, inclusive work environment for our employees and everyone we work with. Our team’s participation in Pink Shirt Day each year with conversations about bullying and harassment, enables us to collectively advocate for respectful workplace, free of bullying and inclusive of all people. I thank all employees for their support of this important initiative. We look forward to sharing team photos in the days to come,” says TNDC’s CEO Paul Gruner.
