The TNDC Employee Rewards and Recognition Program was launched in fall 2022 to recognize and celebrate those TNDC employees who demonstrate initiative, dedication and commitment to our company and our clients. It includes Long Service Awards, Quarterly Awards, Annual Awards and Spot Awards. Exemplifying TNDC Values (Safety, Integrity, Respect, Diversity, High Performance)Winner: Mark Luyben, Haul Truck Driver, Red Chris Crow Crew Nominated By: Tom Payne, Equipment Trainer Positive Behaviour Witnessed/Outcome: Mark is always patiently training and mentoring new drivers, teaching them how to operate equipment correctly and safely, running through pre-trip and driving procedures. The result is new trainee drivers are always trained properly. I can also talk with Mark to discuss their training, so when I go to sign the new drivers off on the equipment they’re training on, it makes the process easier for me. Going Above and Beyond (to solve a problem or get the job done) Winner: Zelda Kietzmann, Accounts Payable, Dease Lake Admin/Remote Nominated By: Rhonda Quock, Manager Accounting Positive Behaviour Witnessed/Outcome: When presented with an accounting problem, Zelda immediately turns attention to investigating and resolving it as quickly as possible, always with a positive attitude and attention to detail. One of the most recent examples involved an issue that had occurred months before. Resolving it became a top priority. Zelda understood the importance and immediately turned her focus to researching records. She resolved the issue in a surprisingly quick time frame, given the history. Zelda consistently goes above and beyond to complete her work, including additional tasks assigned, and is a team player. She always addresses her colleagues and our clients with a positive attitude, and is a pleasure to work with. Living and role modelling our Safety Values (Safety First, Safety Always) Eric Quock, Road Maintenance Foreman, Red Chris Site Services Wolf Crew Nominated By: John Wall, Safety Coordinator Positive Behaviour Witnessed/Outcome: While preparing to extract an ore truck that went off the road, Eric displayed great leadership and a positive safety attitude. He was very patient, calm and professional. Eric made sure not to rush his crew or put any pressure on them, even though there was pressure to get the truck moved so the crew buses and other traffic could get through. Eric gave good, clear instructions, remaining on site to ensure everything went smoothly and safely. He then held a pre-job meeting to discuss the process, hazards/controls involved, and reviewed the Job Safety Environmental Analysis (JSEA) before proceeding with the work. I worked side by side with Eric for the entire job, which was executed with precision and safety as the main priority. Eric is an excellent foreman and leader. |
